KAMBOS CIRCULAR
KAMBOS CIRCULAR WALK WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER.
Another hot day here in the Mani. Which saw 10 of us head out of Kambos for a circular walk. I have done this walk many times but there is always something new to discover. Today it was the churches in Ovora, which proved really interesting as we were shown round by a delightful older Greek man who was the key holder for the main church. The walk also took us down into the Ridimo gorge where we had a rest on the old stone bridge that crosses the gorge. Then a gentle stroll back to Kambos for beer and lunch at the delightful Mirandas Taverna in the square.Thursday 10 September 2015
PROASTIO WALK 9TH SEPTEMBER 2015
PROASTIO 9TH SEPTEMBER 2015
Today saw the first of my new walks. Slightly different from the previous walks, but still the same concept. The walk was a circular one from the village of Proastio. It was a warm muggy day which saw 13 of us climb out the village and follow the kaldarimi upto the village of Exohori. Plenty of stops on the way to admire the scenery and take on water. The walks back from Exohori was by a different route and was slightly easier. Arriving back in Proastio for lunch some 3 hours later, lunch was taken at Voula's. Thank you to all who came on the walk and made it a success.
